Considered to be the most progressive Technician CE program available with a great mix of lectures, labs, and workshops.
- All Lecture Sessions Open to Technicians: Techs and nurses may attend any or all general core sessions they choose for their technician registration. Over 650 technicians attended IVECCS -2005.
- Core Lecture Series: Nursing care protocols, anesthetic problem cases, bleeding disorders, transfusion medicine, shock, pain management, critical care monitoring and much, much more.
- Equine Nursing Care: A day devoted to technician support of the emergent and critical equine patient; includes a workshop on equine monitoring
- Special Lab & Discussion Sessions: Monitoring trauma patients, workshops on CPR, transfusion, pain management, ventilation and many other small group sessions.
- Meeting of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians (AVECCT): The certifying exam will be given to approved candidates immediately prior to the Symposium and the annual AVECCT Business meeting will be held.
- Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists (AVTA) Meeting: This group will participate in the general technician program as well as have a few special sessions devoted to anesthesia nursing. Information will be provided to those interested in pursuing certification in AVTA.
- AVECCT Mock Exam: Exam given to all interested techs on the first day to demonstrate the expertise needed to qualify for AVECCT Certification.
